A daily journal of the running I do with my dog Chico. We frequently run the Steamboat Ditch Trail in Reno, Nevada. Chico helps me prepare for everything from 5Ks to Marathons. Chico is this man's best running friend.

off my butt and on the trail...

Yesterday, we (Chico, Dan, Manuel, Michael and I) went for a trail run. Michael rode his bicycle while we ran. We went 4.5 miles at a real easy pace. Chico was over the moon about being back on the trail and I felt pretty good too. Dan is a newbie, but I think he likes the idea of being a runner and will be joining us for future runs. Michael took a couple of spills, but did very well riding the entire distance. We were going to run today, but have opted to postpone that. I will try to take Chico out this afternoon. I am getting ready to register for the 2006 races; Bidwell 1/2, Marathon de Mayo (26.2), Bay to Breakers 12K and Bizz Johnson (26.2). Long may I run. Enjoy the miles!

It was definitely nice to be back on the trail after some time. Along the "niceness" was, indeed, having and adding a new outdoor soul to the troublesome mix. You really don't know what trails of miles you got yourself into, do you? Welcome, Dan and stead fast! :-)

Looking forward to running in the '06 events with you and the rest of the immediate and running family.

Run strong.
