No substitute for the SDT.

There is simply no substitute for the Steamboat Ditch Trail. Yesterday I took Chico and drove out Vista and looked for a spot to take Chico running. We drove up Los Altos Parkway and pulled in to a park where we found a dirt path that lead up along the ridge. It was allright, but it is obvious that the area is being groomed for construction of new houses and despite some nice desert views, it simply cannot compare to the views of Reno from the SDT. I will continue to look for places to run with Chico (without a leash) near our house, but am resigned (and relieved) that our best runs will always be those that we take on the ditch trail.
